Definition
Scope is the precise statement of what is, and is not, included in a Work Order. It is one of the canonical Work Order sections, distinct from Constraints (which bound how the objective may be achieved) and Objective (which states the outcome itself).
Why It Matters
One Work Order should accomplish one coherent engineering objective. Keeping scope small and explicit reduces ambiguity, simplifies review, improves AI collaboration, and increases traceability — an oversized or vague scope is one of the most common ways a Work Order becomes hard to execute or review.
