Review

Definition

Note: Standalone "Review" is used generically throughout AAOE documentation. The canonical, formally defined concept is Architecture Review (see OM-0004 and STD-0009); other uses (Design Review, code review) appear only informally in the Guides. This entry is a candidate for future refinement.

Provisionally: a Review is an evaluation of an engineering artifact against relevant intent, evidence, or standards, conducted before the artifact is accepted.

Why It Matters

AAOE treats reviews as collaborative engineering conversations aimed at shared understanding, not approval gates or inspections of the person who produced the work. Reviews focus on the artifact — never on the individual who created it.
